Unleash Your Inner Superhero at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa

Luxury Hill Country Resort Will Host 5K Superhero Fun Run to Benefit
Make-A-Wish
® Central & South Texas

AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Runners, dust off your crusader capes and grab your superhero masks, as Omni
Barton Creek Resort & Spa
hosts one of the most epic 5K fun runs
in Austin this year. Benefitting Make-A-Wish® Central & South
Texas, the Superhero Fun Run will allow participants to come together to
make an impact – one stride at a time. Leading the race will be
7-year-old cancer survivor and Wish Kid, Super Kooper (Hernandez). Since
beating cancer, Super Kooper and his family have made it their mission
to give back and help families with kids fighting cancer.

The power-packed race will take place Sunday, Aug. 27, from 7 to 9 a.m.
and participants are encouraged to don their favorite superhero costumes
while running or walking the 5K. All participants can take part in pre-
and post-race festivities in the resort Pavilion and will receive a
superhero T-shirt and finisher medal to take home. Taking place along
the cart path of the Fazio Foothills champion golf course, participants
can take in the sheer beauty of the resort’s signature track, which
offers healthy elevation changes and scenic views of cliffs, creeks and
waterfalls.

“The Superhero Fun Run is a great way for us to rally resort guests,
Country Club members, associates and locals alike for a great cause,”
said David Jurcak, managing director at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa.
“We’re proud of our longstanding partnership with Make-A-Wish®
Central & South Texas, and I, for one, will be out there fully
supporting the cause with a costume for the ages.”

Twenty percent of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Make-A-Wish®
Central & South Texas. Tickets purchased before Aug. 26 are $30 for
adults and $20 for children 12 years and under; and are $35 for adults
and $25 for children 12 years and under on race day, Aug. 27.

“We appreciate the extensive support from Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa
over the years,” said Kathrin Brewer, president & CEO at Make-A-Wish®
Central & South Texas. “The Superhero Fun Run is just another
example of the resort’s dedication to our cause and to the surrounding
community.”

About Make-A-Wish® Central & South Texas

Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical
conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
According to a 2011 U.S. study of wish impact, most health professionals
surveyed believe a wish-come-true can have positive impacts on the
health of children. Kids say wishes give them renewed strength to fight
their illness, and their parents say these experiences help strengthen
the entire family. With the help of generous donors and more than 250
volunteers, Make-A-Wish Central & South Texas has granted more than
4,400 wishes to children in 40 counties since 1984. During the last
year, volunteers and donors made it possible for 266 kids to experience
the magic of a wish.
